What to make of these results?
With a rating below4/5 for the majority of them, it’s clear they are not very well-rated. However, we know it’s important to cultivate a good online reputation and have many positive reviews. Indeed, it’s estimated that 8 out of 10 patients read Google reviews before choosing a practitioner. Furthermore, we know that a good rating and positive reviews reassure patients and encourage them to book an appointment. This therefore sets you apart from the competition and improves your visibility on Google. Here, the problem is that this reflects a discrepancy between practitioners’ Google ratings and the actual quality of care provided. Indeed, we know that the vast majority of patients are satisfied with the quality of care in France.
On the other hand, we notice a rather significant engagement from patients when it comes to leaving a review for the practitioner. Indeed, the majority of them have between10 and 99 reviews.
Just like our previous study on dentists, these results perhaps demonstrate a lack of communication between patients and practitioners. Therefore, the quality of care provided by dermatologists deserves to be better represented on Google. The aim is toreassure patients to encourage them to book appointments.
