What is the online reputation of public hospitals?
We sought to answer these questions through a study conducted on a representative sample of 617 public hospitals.
To obtain relevant results, we chose to consider only the Google pages of establishments with at least one review.

- Out of 617 Google pages, 199 establishments have a Google rating between 2.6 out of 5 and 3 out of 5, representing 32% of the establishments.
- The vast majority of establishments (89%) have a rating below 4 out of 5 on Google.
- The average Google rating for hospitals is 3.1 out of 5

- Out of 617 hospitals, 231 establishments have between 10 and 99 reviews, representing 37% of public hospitals in France.
- The majority of hospitals in France (79%) have fewer than 200 reviews.
- Hospitals have an average of 98 reviews on their Google page.

The online reputation of French hospitals is therefore not on par with the quality of care we know them for.

These results are well below the 4 out of 5 rating recommended for maintaining a good online image and reassuring patients about the quality of care at an establishment. We also note a very low number of reviews given the significant patient flow in these establishments.
If there is often a large discrepancy between the quality of services of an establishment and its online reputation, it’s often because dissatisfied patients tend to rate establishments on Google and leave a comment, unlike satisfied patients.
